SoHo Tier Studios - Beneath the Fabric

With the rise of industrial evolutions, patterns of work have changed. With an increased ability to telecommunicate and new developments in custom product manufacturing, ‘work’ has shifted from necessarily being located at a site distinct from home to commonly being located in direct proximity to home. In light of these shifts in US culture, Soho Tier Studios responds to the relationship between living and working in New York’s urban context.
Soho Tiers Studios is a mixed-use development that offers living and workspace for those in the fashion design industry. The design simultaneously functions as housing while revealing fashion design stages: Development, Production, and Exposure.
Fairmount School of Art and Ecology - Network of Interdependent Systems
Fall 2020
The Fairmount School of Art + Ecology will be a network of interdependent systems that enhances the learning experience for Riverside's young minds.
Collaboration, critical thinking, and exploration become the core of this community guided through the integrated approach of STEAM. The design creates opportunities for students to engage cooperatively with one another in tailored settings that express connectivity. These opportunities become moments within this network of community that create a culture of teamwork, wonder, and discovery. The overall design focused on sustainability manifests into a well-balanced and captivating environment cultivating Riverside’s young minds.
Design for Integration
The Fairmount School of Art + Ecology focuses on incorporating sustainable design and passive strategies to provide solutions to current environmental issues and allow for future generations to do the same. The goal is to respond to Riverside’s hot, dry climate and ecological aspects to integrate an educational development that accommodates occupant comfort. This design responds to environmental issues and opportunities as this educational development will embody STEAM and display the connections between these studies.
Design for Ecology
The Fairmount School of Art + Ecology concentrates on understanding the local ecosystem, watersheds, and wildlife and responded appropriately through sustainability without hindering the natural state but instead enhancing it and improving it. This educational development site is a park of green space that sits by a lake, which also includes many trees and vegetation. The lake is a telltale sign of wildlife that also needs to be seriously considered. Most importantly, the design aims to accommodate and preserve the wildlife habitat and protect and create on-site ecosystems.
Design for Community
The design is dedicated to becoming a key component of the immediate community, the school district, and Riverside's city. The school serves as a cultural shift in the character of the city. Riverside emphasizes the Arts and Innovation; thus, this STEAM school embodies the relationship between these and displays it for the community.
Threshold Theater - Stitched Experience
Spring 2020
Threshold Theater is a community theater center that exemplifies the integration of strong community, reinforced culture, and fostered learning realized through stitching together people, place, and activity.
This design sits amid Redlands’ historic district as well as the new developing city center, thus the theater has a unique opportunity to stitch together what Redlands was, currently is, and will be. Immediately surrounding the site are shops, restaurants, a future food court building, as well as Redlands’ iconic Historic Train Station.
Overall, the Threshold Theater of Redlands offers the opportunity for the city to express its identity through social interaction and performing arts.
This community theater center for Redlands becomes a part of a diverse city that loves to manifest itself in different ways.
Lastly, the Threshold Theater is a compilation of connected spaces that create interstitial zones that stitch together people, place, and activity.
The City of Redlands is one the best examples of a city that prides itself on its engagement with its local and regional community. It has long been known as a center for the region’s citrus history and its turn of the century architectural landmarks, including the Historic Train Station. The city focuses much of its energy on bringing people together, from its Thursday Night Market to experiencing a show at the Redlands Bowl, the United States’ oldest, continuously running free outdoor music festival. The Redlands Theater Festival is one of the top tourist attractions in San Bernardino County. Recently, the City of Redlands has undertaken an initiative to revitalize and expand its downtown district. This design demonstrates a sensitivity for the place, site and history of theater and Redlands with a broad-minded investigation of the future that community theater plays within society.
Ann Arbor Christian Study Center - The Conversation of Faith
Spring 2021
This Christian Study Center, through careful architectural design, becomes a display for the conversations of faith that happen every day. In doing so, this design focuses on the relationship between live, study, and worship. Academics develop into the forefront of design as an anchor point between live and worship. Within this nature, study is emphasized in order to bridge understanding that ultimately results in the growth of the individual and community. This Christian Study Center demonstrates that contemporary conversations within the faith and sets out to share that. Conclusively, this project aims to build a balanced lifestyle by promoting habit formation for the individual as well as the community.
Vltava Philharmonic Hall - Prague’s Flowing Force
Fall 2021
The Vltava Philharmonic Concert Hall of Prague will contribute to developing the city center while working towards confirming Prague’s international reputation as a cultural capital and symbol of Czech music tradition.
This destination becomes a catalyst for future development and potential new architectural landmarks. The objective of this design is to promote itself as a center of inspiring live cultural events and monuments. The Vltava Philharmonic Hall will serve as a cultural hub for Prague and international visitors. This concert hall becomes a cultural and architectural landmark of the city, which will become an essential focal point for visitors from around the world. To be a symbol for Prague, this design responds to the current and proposed urban fabric through the driving concept of a fluid force that derives from the Vltava River.

Dom-Ino House - Architectural First Steps
Fall 2017
This project is founded upon the modular nature of the Le Corbusier’s Dom-Ino House. The design is constrained to certain degrees but organizes sun-spaces, a garden, bedrooms, living areas, a kitchen, and a study. This design demonstrates the first steps into hand drafting and spatial planning.
Flexible Performing Arts Environment - Moment

1st Place Finish in Studio Design Competition
Moment is the flexible performing arts environment that promotes social interaction, cultural diversity, and unique experience for those at California Baptist University. Moment responds to the potential of more intimate as well as expansive events to help host the numerous cultural events. Overall, Moment offers the opportunity to create unique memories for those and CBU now, and those to come.
Schindler-Chace House Addition - Moment of Interlocking

This project consider the ideas and concepts behind modern thinking of the Schindler-Chace house and utilizes them to create and addition to act as a precursor to the existing landmark. This project takes the idea of interlocking and rethinks it to enhance the significance of the house.
Beach Cabana - Layers of Folds
Spring 2018
This project tests the abilities to create patterns through folding paper in order to create a functional conceptual form for a beach cabana. This project also studies the shadows that result from the designed forms.
Modern Slavery Memorial - Enkindle Liberation
Spring 2019
This modern slavery memorial acts as a place to enkindle thoughts of liberation. It uses the combination of compressed and expansive spaces in conjunction with warm and cold materials to evoke a sense understanding the essence of what modern slavery is like.
